I always love when it's any feeder series weekend! They're always turning out good races. Super upset about the onsite commentators. Sounds like Miami GP doesn't have it's act together from all the trouble you had It's also fun to see them race and then watch F1 and really FEEL that difference in speed.

i followed from buzzfeed to watcher purely because i liked the dynamic of shane and ryan, it reminded me of me and my best friend a lot and i thought the concept of a comedy, calling out misinterpreted ghost evidence ghost hunting show was fun. i'm always, always hesitant about watching true crime, but they didn't handle super recent cases or speculate much on mental health of the perpetrators or victims when talking about those cases. i liked puppet history a lot, didn't keep up with it as much, but occasionally tuned in because i enjoyed the concept and banter so much alongside short form educational comedy. nothing else on watcher interested me, i'll be honest, and i especially didn't even like "worth it" back when it was on buzzfeed because it felt so shallow from what i *did* watch of it. this is all to say, i genuinely prefer the pre-high production value versions of their ghost hunting and true crime shows. i miss the editing of it, the text convos on screen in yellow and blue were always so funny and easy to use as reaction images or send to friends out of context. ever since they cranked the production value, it's become less interesting to me. i stopped tuning in whenever episodes dropped and would just watch them in passing. i have a friend who was SUPER into them, rewatched them as background noise pretty regularly, and when this whole thing went down they were also part of the crowd blaming steven. i fully agree with you that ryan and shane are literally adults, older than my friend in question and i as well, they could have said something. just because shane was verbally anti-capitalist and encouraged password sharing doesn't mean he wasn't part of this trash fire just as much as steven, ryan and the others. also yeah, 25 employees for a channel like watcher is genuinely insane. i can't imagine what the back end of production must be like with that many people for a channel like watcher.

I considered using Fum, but then I saw the price. Like $70 just for the cheaper of the devices. It's wood and a metal mouth piece, I'm not paying $70 for something that probably costs $.25 to produce. IIRC they said each oil container (core?) lasts 2-3 days and they come in a pack of 3 for $10. That'll end up being likely $10 a week, which isn't terrible, but it adds up-around $40 a month. It's way cheaper than cigarettes, I'll give them that, but because of their ridiculous pricing, I'll stay with my vape. My local vape shop, 1 of the bigger containers (not sure on ounces) is $35 and that'll last me over 2 months easily. Maybe they missed that day of business school on the importance of pricing, because if they dropped even just the price of the delivery device to like $10, they'd actually make more money due to selling way more units. I can't be the only one who thought about it, looked at the price and thought "whoa, never mind, no thanks". With my habits, regular vape is still less than half the price of a "flavored air" device.

I have veneers on three teeth, done in the early 00's. They're an extremely thin surface layer, with a little extra built up only where the shape needed "correcting". The only filing they required was a very minor surface etch to help the veneer bond. Those things with the "shark teeth" underneath look more like what I understand as CROWNS, not veneers.

From what I've seen of other Miku concerts is that usually a live performer is tracking as Miku in another room and Miku often talks to the audience inbetween songs to say what song is next or thank the band/fans. Also that she & other vocaloids wear special outfits for a few songs sometimes. edit - yes miku is better than AI lol. She and other vocaloids are made from sound banks. They sometimes change voice actors/singers with new verisons. The person who voices Kaito loves him so much and calls Kaito his son! He's a awesome singer too and still does recordings for Kaito from what I can tell.

Booking day rooms at hotels can be a pain, so an app that allows people to quickly see what hotels offer them and book right there actually seems like a decent idea to me. Allowing individuals to host in their own homes does not sound appealing.

Why am I watching/ rewatching all of your old videos and commenting on them? I have no idea. I am not a fan of reaction videos unless the person is actually critiquing the case ntent they are relating to. Like voice coach reaction and lawyer reaction videos can be good. Random person gasping or even talking over a video playing is a no go for me.

I also went to Miami GP this year on a GA ticket. I completely agree with you that there aren't enough screens. My friend and I posted up on the Hard Rock Stadium balconies to watch the race. We had to sacrifice seeing the screens and hearing the broadcasters, but the area we were in had a great view of three turns. We used F1 twitter to know the details of what was happening on the track and that was a good system. We did the same for the sprint too and people around us were following on F1 TV and sharing what was going on. It was a bit annoying, but I paid to see fast cars in person and I was gonna see fast cars in person.

You clearly really like the movie. I thought it was o.k. Abigail was underpowered such that they could use some type of drug on her and totally incapacitate her during which time they could have easily killed her. Further, they could physically "man-handle" her (which is inconsistent with her having the strength to break down a metal cage imo). Finally, the fact Frank so easily could overpower her so soon made her look weaker still. This reminds me of the disappointing Blood Red Sky, in which I thought the mom was not nearly the force I would hope she would be and was easily overpowered and had the tables turned on her, even in just a 1 on 1 battle.

I can’t help but think that collapse of IndyCar (thanks Tony George😡) has also really hurt F1 in the states.

I told my friend the 20 minute rule when we were at a convention once. It's the same thing as the 48 hour rule, but with a much smaller time block, because there's so much to see at conventions and they only last the weekend. And even then, it's really effective. Once you walk away from the cool thing and look at other cool things for twenty minutes, you'll probably forget about the first cool thing. Legit it's saved me hundreds of dollars at conventions

Not a racing fan but as a women's hockey fan for over a decade, watching Amanda run into all the stupid ways women's sports get treated, is darkly funny. From making it hard for fans to get to, to having condescending, ill-informed commentators and media, to not advertising the events properly... it's all so fucking familiar. (Maybe check out a PWHL game next season, Swell. It's such a huge step up in what things were like even last year I keep tearing up at games.)

Since they’ve moved to watcher I had watched a video or two of theirs and it was ok but I loved loved loved their buzzfeed unsolved videos. I literally rewatch them with family because we are true crime and horror fiends.

Regarding the cigarettes vs vapes debate, I would be pretty shocked if vaping turned out to be worse than smoking, but as someone who used to do both, I can tell you that I had a much harder time quitting vaping than smoking. Cigarettes come with a whole lot of bad and nasty things that makes it super easy to keep it lowkey. And of course I'm mainly talking about the smell. It is incredibly strong and it sticks to your fingers, to your clothes, to your breath, you name it. It's also demonized by society (as it should), which means that you're not gonna find a group of people that welcome your the smoke very easily. Back in the day I would legit quit it for like 2-3 months then come back a little for a little bit and then out again. It was something that I enjoyed depending on the setting, but similar to drinking, there are simply a lot of super obvious negatives that just bring you down in every possible aspect, so it's very very easy to feel disgusted, and sick of it, to the point where you don't even wanna do it that much. With vaping, none of those things are there to hold you back, and it makes a high amount of nicotine SUPER ACCESIBLE in basically any time of the day and the week. I'm no doctor, but I really don't think vapes are more dangerous than smoking. However, I am confident that it is incredibly easier to develop a nicotine addiction out of vaping than smoking. I wish I never got into it.
